Our Services

Borehole Drilling, Testing & Water Installation Services

Geological Water Survey & Site Assessment

Before any drilling commences, our team conducts a thorough site assessment to evaluate the hydrogeological conditions of your property. This includes surface geology analysis, identification of optimal drilling coordinates, and an assessment of expected water-bearing zones.

Borehole Drilling

We drill boreholes to the required depth using rotary percussion or air flush drilling methods suited to the specific geological formation encountered on site.

Borehole Testing & Yield Analysis

On completion of drilling, we conduct a comprehensive yield test to determine the sustainable output of your borehole.

Pump Installation

We supply and install submersible borehole pumps correctly matched to your borehole yield, required flow rate, and system pressure requirements. Incorrect pump selection is one of the leading causes of premature pump failure and poor system performance, our technical approach eliminates this risk.

Water Storage & Tanks

Effective water storage is a key component of any borehole system. We advise on and install appropriate storage tank configurations that buffer between borehole yield and household or operational demand

Filtration & Purification

Borehole water quality varies across South Africa’s geological formations and is not always safe for domestic or drinking use without treatment. KIB Pumps designs and installs customised water filtration and purification systems based on your specific water analysis results

Do You Have Any Other Questions?

A standard residential borehole installation typically takes 2 to 3 days from drilling to pump commissioning. This includes the geological site assessment, drilling, casing installation, yield testing, and pump installation. Larger or more complex installations may take longer depending on depth and geological conditions.

Borehole yield varies significantly depending on the geological formation and depth of your property. Our yield tests determine the safe sustainable output in litres per hour. Most residential boreholes in South Africa produce between 500 and 3,000 litres per hour, though some formations yield significantly more or less. We never install a pump that exceeds the borehole's safe yield.

Raw borehole water is not automatically safe for drinking. Water quality depends on the local geology and surrounding land use. We recommend a laboratory water analysis before use. If contaminants are detected, such as bacteria, iron, or hardness, we design and install a customised filtration and purification system to bring the water to the required standard, including SANS 241 potable water compliance.

Common causes include electrical cable damage (often from load shedding voltage surges), pump wear, or a drop in the water table. Our repair service covers pump retrieval, cable replacement, and full system diagnosis. We also issue formal damage reports for insurance claims where applicable.
